ISI(TM) has been providing hydrocolloids to the North American
food industry for over twelve years with a team having more than 150 year's of experience. Originally
we were incorporated as Shemberg USA, the independent marketing arm of one of the world's leading
carrageenan producers, Shemberg Corporation. We were founded with a simple philosophy and business
strategy: offer the customer a more cost-effective carrageenan, consistent quality assurance,
and technical support for their particular application. While our name has
changed, our approach hasn't, and today we are the largest independent carrageenan supplier world-
wide.
ISITM has incorporated that same philosophy in our marketing strategy for xanthan
gum and alginates.
Conformity First is ISI'sTM pledge that every product we supply is quality tested
to assure conformity to agreed upon specifications first.
Our carrageenans include grades from all three of the major refining methods assuring customers
of the best performing, most cost-effective carrageenans available.
Alginates provide truly unique heat-stable gelling properties and are available in both
medium and high viscosity grades.
Xanthan gum is available in 200-, 80-, 40 mesh and cosmetic grades. We produce an agglomerated-dust
free xanthan gum, Quik-XanTM, for easier dispersion and quicker hydration.
Please refer to the attached pages for more details on our carrageenans, alginates and xanthan gums.
Our quality control and applications laboratory can replicate most meat and poultry, dairy,
toothpaste, petfood, pharmaceutical and industrial application projects and is available to assist
with gum selection and product development work.
Our central warehousing is located in St. Charles, Missouri, and can usually facilitate stock
item deliveries within three- to five days.
